I have a patch on the side of a hill that I tend to use as a benchmark area for new friends and equipment. This area has seen 8 other GPX6000 users with 11” coils on many occasions over the last 2 years and has produced over 450 nuggets in this time alone, from 3-gram pieces down to tiny specks.
Taking the new 9” Goldhawk to an open area on this patch, I was impressed to still find more nuggets, particularly a little deeper. From my experience, the 9” Goldhawk punches deeper and is more sensitive to nuggets than the original 11” coil. I also feel that the 9” Goldhawk coil is more robust, and I feel confident bumping it into rocks and pushing it through bushes.
