Last year we found a medieval gold and silver hoard of 24 coins. The coins consisted of 22 silver and 2 gold, both being Edward iii and a quarter noble and half noble. This was subsequently featured in treasure hunting magazine.
This week we returned to the hoard site after it had been cut for the first time this year. We wanted to use our 15 inch Nox coil to see if we could find anymore that were deeper and previously missed. We have been over and over with the standard coils on the Nox 600 and manticore. This week using the 15 inch Nox coil we managed to find another Edward iii silver groat dated 1354-55.
This would have gone in found without the use of the 15 inch Nox coil and it was around 10 inches deep!! Attached is a picture of this last weeks find and our 25th coin to add to our hoard. It has already been listed on the PAS as an addition to the hoard and with be submitted under the treasure act.
